[CS241] assertion failure in strip

I just went over the code with Yuri and Micha, but did not get any allocation errors. I did, however, run into the same problem as Lenora. We think the problem is coming from makeECTree in ECTree.C. We could be wrong, but we are rerunning it again to see if this the case...

I get an allocation error from one of the std::allocators.
I'm pretty certain that it's running out of memory, so I'm running it on a smaller training set to get an idea of the fraction of features we need to cut.

Hi, has anyone tried the new file?
The assertion is gone but the program would stop somewhere randomly in
the read function, after about 2 to 3 hours running.
It's like some kind of seg fault without any assertion or error message
printed out before it's dead.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Lenora
