ARA Hamfest, 3/21/09 Message-ID: <843D20C18448447E877EA4527B1DC8CD@Dadscomputer> Good morning all, Just a quick reminder to mark your calendars for 3/21/09 for the annual ECARA Hamfest to be held once again in Pomfret, CT The costs have remained the same with $10/table and $2 to attend. We will be selling refreshment as usual. I'm trying to work with a local YCCC area manager to set up a meeting in the afternoon. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with one of the premier contest groups in the world and find out if you are interested in the club and becoming a member. The event runs from 8am -12 noon. We also have a VE session that you need to pre-register for. Email or call me and I will advise the coordinator if you are planning on testing. Additional info can be found at: http://www.qsl.net/k1muj/hamfest/hamflea3.pdf A few tables are still available. Please re-distribute this e-mail to other list you may belong to. 73 and hope to see you at the fester, Paul Rollinson, KE1LI ECARA Hamfest Chairman 860-928-5147 860-928-3844 fax paulrollinson@sbcglobal.net -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We've managed to wrangle a few most tables so space is available to vend. We have broken previous year's records for pre-sold table sales... Should be a nice offering. Mother Nature is threatening to give us nice weather for a change... Thanks Mom. Cool start but clear with highs in the upper 40's maybe 50F NO SNOW THIS YEAR! This year we have asked some local restaurants for gift certificates to raffle off. So this year not only will we have the entrance door raffle but also a raffle for one lucky ham to win a FT-1802M and 3 additional consolation prizes. Attendance for the Radio raffle is not required but I need to be able to read your ticket. "Bob from RI" won't work. This is ECARA's only fund raiser. Many of you have supported us in the past and I thank you. Please continue this support by attending this year's show, rub elbows with a few guys you haven't seen in a while, load-up your connector supply and eyeball that new rig you've been drooling over. It only cost $2 (tables are $10). Please contact me if you have any questions or need directions. After having congestion with RTTY, CW, Olivia and other digital modes on 3587, *the packet station will remain on 3595.50 kHz* until further notice. I am interested in knowing the location that you are trying to access the HF packet station (town and state and/or grid number), signal report, type of antenna and polarization, and what time of day you tried to access the station. I encourage people to try the station both during the day and night since 80 meters can react differently by time of day. *The mailbox is N1URA-1 and is set at 300 baud packet. *Please leave a message or email observations to N1URA@ARRL.NET and pass the word to anybody you know who may be able to operate HF packet (either through a soundcard with MixW type software or using a TNC). 73/72 DE N1URA -Cory Golob
