Unaffected from the Air-Force is a 9600b repeater for packet use only on 449.525 - split no PL its not a normal repeater, i say normal as in it don't have a tail and it don't get kerchhunked either. only a valid packet transmission at 9600b will make it work. If your wonder if this is new, its not. this repeater has been around for years and has had a serious upgrade, so some kinks may be still lurking with the new radio equipment. this repeater is open to all for 9600b operation, at this current time and will always be a DX-Cluster on this repeater for high speed (for packet anyway) under the call of K1RFI Also Southern New England's First Wide area coverage WinLink Server under the Call of K1RFI-10. If you feel the need tune into 449.525 and listen or copy the mail passing by and see if you can decode 9600b data with your radio, 9600b sounds like a squelch burst. Some are all ready asking just 440? no, Winlink and DX-Cluster are also available on 145.710 simplex at 1200b under the same calls as 440 What WinLink? Winlink is a Internet gateway that allows you to send E-mail using packet radio, its simple to use and simple to get your mail. http://www.winlink.org will give you most of the details but you can E-mail me off list or on list if the moderator allows and i can give you a simple run down. I'll have my station connected to the Cluster so you can hear or decode 9600b 73 - Tony NN1D
