[76] New RIAFMRS APRS Digi-Peater

Hi All,

  I'd like to announce the newest addition to the RIAFMRS equipment 
list, the RIAFMRS APRS Digi-Peater, located at our repeater site on 
Chopmist Hill in Scituate RI.  The Digi is currently utilizing a spare 
antenna installed at a low height (appx. 12 feet), but even still, it's 
working quite well and repeating a substantial amount of APRS traffic.  
It is definitely providing coverage in a much needed area of the state 
as the next closest APRS station is located 9.1 miles away.  The Digi is 
beaconing out with the call sign W2DAN-14.

  A special thanks goes to Denis KD1HA for providing a Motorola MaxTrac 
radio, and W2DAN for providing a KPC-3 TNC along with his expertise 
setting up the equipment for this project.  

  Also thanks to everybody who attended the RIAFMRS ".76" Auction.  The 
turn out was the best in many years, and your support continues to make 
projects like this happen!  I hope to see you all again next year!!
